In this series I develop further the work that I started in my Cyanotype series for my BA.


Producing cyanotypes relies on ultraviolet light and excessive UV light inhibits the growth processes of almost all green plants. There is concern that ozone depletion may lead to a loss of plant species so the production of cyanotypes acts as a metaphor for this process.


I produced cyanotype prints of flowers but then collaged a small area of colour onto the print. The coloured collages were printed from the original photograph, then printed onto very thin washi inkjet paper, they were then cut out and mounted on to the cyanotype.
